Retrovir (zidovudine) is a prescription medication used to treat HIV infection or AIDS. It is approved as a treatment for HIV and to help prevent pregnant women with the virus from spreading it to their babies. Retrovir is part of a group of HIV medications known as nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). These medicines work by blocking a process that the HIV virus needs in order to multiply.

4.Trizivir (Abacavir/Lamivudine/Zidovudine)

Trizivir is a prescription medication used to treat HIV infection or AIDS. It is approved for use alone or in combination with other HIV medications as a treatment for HIV. Trizivir contains three different medications:

  • Abacavir (Ziagen)
  • Lamivudine (Epivir)
  • Zidovudine (Retrovir)

Trizivir contains three different HIV/AIDS medications (abacavir, lamivudine, and zidovudine). All three of these medications belong to a group of HIV medications known as nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). These medicines work by blocking a process that the HIV virus needs in order to multiply.

5. Ziagen (Abacavir sulfate)

Ziagen (abacavir sulfate) is a prescription medication that is used as a treatment for HIV and AIDS. It is only approved for use in combination with other HIV medications.

Ziagen belongs to a group of HIV medications known as nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). These drugs work by blocking a process that the HIV virus needs in order to multiply.

6.Telzir (Fosamprenavir)

Telzir in combination with low dose ritonavir is indicated for the treatment of Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1) infected adults, adolescents and children of 6 years and above in combination with other antiretroviral medicinal products.

In moderately antiretroviral experienced adults, Telzir in combination with low dose ritonavir has not been shown to be as effective as lopinavir / ritonavir. No comparative studies have been undertaken in children or adolescents.

In heavily pretreated patients the use of Telzir in combination with low dose ritonavir has not been sufficiently studied.

7.Kivexa (Abacavir/Lamivudine)

Kivexa is a fixed-dose combination of two nucleoside analogues (abacavir and lamivudine). It is indicated in antiretroviral combination therapy for the treatment of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection in adults and adolescents from 12 years of age.

1.Kivexa Herceptin (Trastuzumab)

Herceptin is a prescription medication used to treat breast cancer and stomach cancer (gastric cancer). Herceptin is part of a group of medications called monoclonal antibodies. Monoclonal antibodies are used to treat a wide variety of conditions, including cancer. Herceptin is a special type of monoclonal antibody that is designed to bind to HER2, a protein on the outside of certain cancer cells. When Herceptin binds to HER2 receptor proteins, it has several effects. It may interfere with the cancer cells' ability to grow and multiply. By binding to the HER2 receptor, the drug may also serve as a signal to the immune system, which can help destroy the cancer cells.

2.Fuzeon (Enfuvirtide)

Fuzeon is a prescription medication used as a treatment for HIV and AIDS. It is approved for use only in combination with other HIV medications. This drug is usually reserved for people who have tried other HIV medications without success. Fuzeon is not taken by mouth; instead, it must be injected just under the skin.

Fuzeon belongs to a group of medications known as fusion inhibitors. Because the drug works on the outside of cells, it is significantly different from most other types of HIV medications, which work on the inside of cells.

3.Pegasys (Peginterferon alfa-2a)

Pegasys is a form of interferon treatment -a substance that has been shown to help fight hepatitis C. It is used alone or in combination with COPEGUS (ribavirin, USP) in adults with compensated liver disease not previously treated with interferon alpha.

Hepatitis C treatment with PEGASYS is taken for 24 or 48 weeks (depending on the type of your hepatitis C virus).

More than 6000 hepatitis C patients have been treated in key PEGASYS clinical trials all over the world. In addition, PEGASYS is the most frequently studied interferon in combination with oral antivirals in development.

4.Viracept (Nelfinavir mesylate)

Viracept is a prescription medicine used as a treatment for HIV and AIDS. It is approved for use only in combination with other HIV or AIDS medications. Viracept belongs to a group of AIDS and HIV medications known as protease inhibitors (PIs). These medicines work by blocking a process that the HIV virus needs in order to multiply.

Viracept is a protease inhibitor, which means that it stops protease enzymes from clipping DNA into short strands. Since the long, unclipped DNA strands cannot be used to make new viruses, this helps stop the spread of HIV to other uninfected cells.

Abbot Laboratories

1.Kaletra (Lopinavir/Ritonavir)

Kaletra (lopinavir and ritonavir) is a prescription medicine used as a treatment for HIV and AIDS. It contains two separate medications. Ritonavir (one active ingredient) is used to increase the level of lopinavir (the other active ingredient) in the blood, helping to make it more effective. Kaletra is approved for use along with other HIV medications.

Both of the medications in Kaletra belong to a group of HIV medications known as protease inhibitors. These medicines work by blocking a process that the HIV virus needs in order to multiply.

2.Norvir (Ritonavir)

Norvir (ritonavir) is a prescription medicine that is used as a treatment for HIV and AIDS. It is always used in combination with other HIV medications. In fact, it is currently used most often to "boost" other HIV medications to increase the level of other HIV medications in the blood, making them more effective.

Norvir is part of a group of HIV medications known as protease inhibitors. These medicines work by blocking a process that the HIV virus needs in order to multiply.

3. Lucrin Depot (Leuprolide Actetate for Depot Suspension)

Lucrin Depot is indicated in the palliative treatment of advanced prostatic cancer. It offers an alternative treatment of prostatic cancer when orchiectomy or estrogen administration are either not indicated or unacceptable to the patient.

Lucrin Depot (3.75 mg) is prescribed for leiomyoma uteri (uterine fibroids) for a period of up to six months. Therapy may be preoperative prior to myomectomy or hysterectomy, or it may provide symptomatic relief for the perimenopausal woman who does not desire surgery.

4.Zemplar (Paricalcitol)

Paricalcitol, USP, the active ingredient in Zemplar Injection (paricalcitol injection fliptop vial), is a synthetically manufactured analog of calcitriol, the metabolically active form of vitamin D indicated for the prevention and treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism associated with chronic kidney disease(CKD) Stage 5.

Janssen

1.Prezista (Darunavir Ethanolate)

Prezista (darunavir ethanolate) is a prescription medicine used as a treatment for HIV and AIDS. It should always be combined with ritonavir (Norvir), another medication that makes Prezista work better. This drug is only approved for use with ritonavir plus other HIV or AIDS medications (it is not approved to be used alone).

Eli Lilly

1.Gemzar (gemcitabine)

Gemzar (gemcitabine) is a prescription medication used to treat various types of cancer. Specifically, the medication is approved to treat:

  • Ovarian cancer
  • Breast Cancer
  • Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
  • Pancreatic cancer

Gemzar belogns to a group of medicines called antimetabolites. Antimetabolites are medications that are similar to naturally occurring chemicals in the body that cells use to build DNA and other important parts of the cell. Antimetabolites are similar enough to these chemicals that cells mistake them for the real chemicals, using them to build DNA. However, antimetabolites are different enough that the DNA (or other cell structures) built using them will not function properly. Since DNA is essential for cells to grow and multiply, antimetabolite medications prevent cell growth and multiplication, and may cause cell death.
